Client Makes the Decision

Compass & Main’s role in presenting information does not transfer final decision-making responsibility to Compass & Main.

No Unauthorized Financial or Contractual Authority

Unless specifically authorized in writing, Compass & Main does not have authority to:

  • enter contracts on behalf of a client

  • accept vendor terms on a client’s behalf

  • purchase products or services on a client’s behalf

  • spend client funds

  • provide a client’s payment credentials

  • change a client’s financial accounts

  • make legally binding commitments for a client

Where practical, third-party subscriptions, software accounts, domains, hosting, advertising accounts, licenses, and similar client assets should remain in the client’s ownership and use client-controlled payment methods.

Payment Credentials and Client Accounts

Compass & Main does not request or retain complete client credit-card numbers, banking credentials, or similar payment credentials for third-party purchases as part of our ordinary consulting process.

Clients may be asked to complete purchases directly with the applicable provider and then grant Compass & Main the appropriate contributor, administrator, user, or project access necessary to perform agreed work.

Clients should not send payment credentials to Compass & Main by ordinary email, text message, website inquiry form, or other insecure means.

Client Approval and Authority

General information on the Compass & Main website does not authorize Compass & Main to:

  • publish content for a client

  • alter a client system

  • purchase software

  • incur advertising spend

  • commit client funds

  • sign a contract

  • make a binding business decision

Authorization for specific client work is established through the applicable proposal, Statement of Work, agreement, approval, or other documented instruction.

Technology and Website Availability

Technology changes.

Software can fail, providers may discontinue services, integrations may break, features may change, and websites may experience interruptions.

Compass & Main cannot guarantee continuous availability or permanent compatibility of third-party technology.
