Compass & Main helps businesses bring their websites, brand presence, systems, and behind-the-scenes operations into clearer order so the business looks more polished, feels more organized, and is easier to manage.
Some clients come to us for a website. Others need help organizing processes, improving workflows, creating consistency, implementing Microsoft 365 tools, or simply figuring out what needs attention first.

We can work with any size business, but small and mid-sized businesses are our passion. We work with companies across a variety of industries and locations.
Whether you're a solo business owner wearing every hat, a growing company trying to become more organized, or an established organization looking for operational support, our approach is tailored to your specific needs.
-
Working with Compass & Main means you’re working directly with someone who understands both the technical and operational sides of running a business. You get direct access, personalized support, and practical guidance.
There are no layers of account managers, project handoffs, or unnecessary complexity. No sales pitches, no quotas to meet, and no upsells to deal with.
When you work with Compass & Main, you get a partner that actually knows you, your business, and cares that you succeed just as much as you do!

We're typically a good fit for business owners who want thoughtful guidance, practical solutions, and a partner who can see both the big picture and the details. If you're looking for someone to help bring clarity, organization, and direction to your business, there's a good chance we'll work well together.
-
Honestly, very little. At minimum, you'll leave the conversation with a clearer understanding of your situation and possible next steps. There is no obligation, and there is no pressure to move forward if it doesn't feel right for your business.
-
Then you're probably in the right place!
Many businesses don't have a single major problem. They have dozens of small issues competing for attention at the same time.
Our goal is to help create clarity, identify priorities, and build a path forward that feels manageable and realistic.
-
Absolutely. While Compass & Main calls Michigan home, geography isn't a limitation. We work with businesses remotely and have experience supporting organizations across multiple locations and time zones. Whether you're nearby or several states away, we're happy to have a conversation and see if we're the right fit for your needs.
Getting Started
-
Absolutely not!
Many clients contact us because they know something isn't working the way it should, but they're not sure where to start.
That's completely normal.
Part of our process is helping identify priorities, uncover opportunities, and determine the best next steps.
When it comes to new business owners or people who have a great idea for a business but don’t know where to start, Compass & Main will help you put everything together in a logical order, so you know what to expect and what comes first, next, and last. We love helping new companies launch and cheering them on for years to come!

The Clarity Session is the best place to start.
It's a 60-90 minute focused conversation designed to better understand your business, your goals, your current challenges, and what may be getting in the way.
You'll leave with practical recommendations, prioritized next steps, and a clearer understanding of where to focus your time and energy.
Should you decide to move further along with Compass & Main, The Clarity Session fee is applied to that service.
For example, if you book The Clarity Session and one of the recommendations is launching a website, you can hire Compass & Main to build that site for you and the Clarity Session fee will be applied to your website project.
To take advantage of that applied fee, you must book your project within 30 days of your Clarity Session.
-
No, but it is highly encouraged.
Some clients already know exactly what they need and are ready to move forward immediately.
Others benefit from taking a step back and gaining clarity before investing in a larger project.
-
NEVER!
Our goal is to help you determine whether we're the right fit for your needs. Sometimes that leads to a project together. Sometimes it leads to advice, recommendations, or a referral elsewhere. Either way, you'll receive honest guidance without sales pressure. EVER!
-
We'll start with a conversation. We'll learn more about your business, your challenges, and what you're hoping to accomplish. If it looks like we can help, we'll discuss potential next steps. If not, we'll do our best to point you in the right direction. No pressure ever.
-
Absolutely not!
If you contact us, your information is used to respond to your inquiry. We don't believe in overwhelming people with constant sales emails, and we won't fill your inbox with messages you didn't ask for.
Services & Expertise

That's perfectly fine!
Not every engagement turns into a large project.
Sometimes a business needs help solving a specific problem, organizing a process, improving a workflow, or getting guidance on a single decision.
-
No.
Websites are only one part of what we do.
Many businesses struggle because their website, operations, processes, technology, and customer experience are disconnected.
Compass & Main helps connect those pieces so they work together more effectively.
But, if you only need a website, we would be more than happy to build one for you!

Projects & Support
-
It depends on the scope.
Some projects can be completed in a few days or weeks, while larger initiatives may take several months.
After an initial conversation, we'll provide a clear understanding of expectations and timelines.
-
Yes.
Some clients engage us for a specific project, while others prefer ongoing support as their business evolves.
Ongoing support provides a trusted partner who understands your business and can help keep things organized, moving, and improving over time.

Compass & Main operates primarily as a remote business, and the vast majority of our work is completed remotely through Microsoft Teams and other collaborative tools.
In practice, it often feels like we're sitting in the same room. Meetings, planning sessions, strategy discussions, project reviews, training, and ongoing support can all be handled effectively without requiring travel.
For most businesses, remote collaboration is faster, more flexible, and more efficient.
While on-site visits may occasionally be necessary for certain projects, they are rare and typically reserved for situations where being physically present provides meaningful value.

Every business is different, so pricing depends on the scope of work.
Some services have starting prices, while larger projects are custom quoted based on complexity, timeline, and objectives.
We'll always discuss expectations, scope, and pricing before work begins so there are no surprises.
You can find additional information about our services and packages on the Services page. If you don't see a package that feels like the right fit, reach out. Not every project fits neatly into a predefined offering, and we would love to talk through your needs and determine the best path forward.

We'll have that conversation. Sometimes what looks like a website problem is actually a process problem. Sometimes a technology challenge is rooted in communication, organization, or workflow. We believe in solving the right problem, not simply delivering the service that was originally requested. If we discover a better path forward, we'll discuss it with you and adjust the scope and pricing accordingly. You'll never be encouraged to pay for something your business doesn't genuinely need.
