PAYMENT, CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Effective Date: September 11, 2026

Compass & Main LLC provides professional services and may also offer books, templates, downloads, training, educational resources, workshops, and other physical or digital products.

This policy explains our general payment, cancellation, and refund practices.

Specific terms shown in an accepted proposal, Statement of Work, Master Service Agreement, invoice, product listing, registration page, or checkout page may supplement or replace these general terms for the applicable transaction.

Professional Services

Professional services are generally provided through an individually agreed scope, proposal, Statement of Work, agreement, or similar engagement document.

Pricing and payment structure may vary by engagement.

Depending on the project, Compass & Main may require:

  • an upfront deposit

  • milestone payments

  • hourly billing

  • recurring billing

  • fixed project fees

  • final payment

  • another mutually agreed payment structure

Compass & Main may require payment or a deposit before work begins or before capacity is reserved.

Invoice Payments

Compass & Main invoices may be delivered electronically and paid online through our website or a connected payment interface.

Unless another due date is stated in the applicable proposal, agreement, Statement of Work, or invoice, invoices are due within fifteen (15) calendar days of the invoice date.

Different payment terms, including Net 30 terms, may be agreed in writing for a particular engagement.

Available payment methods may include credit or debit card, Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, other digital wallets, or other supported methods depending on the transaction and payment provider.

Compass & Main generally incorporates ordinary payment-processing costs into our pricing rather than adding a separate credit-card surcharge.

Late Payments

Any undisputed amount not paid by its stated due date may accrue a late charge of 1.5% per month on the unpaid overdue balance, or the maximum amount permitted by applicable law, whichever is less.

The late charge applies to the unpaid balance of the overdue invoice, not automatically to the total value of the project.

Compass & Main may also pause work, withhold further services or deliverables, and adjust project schedules while an account remains past due.

Additional or Changed Work

Payment of an invoice does not authorize unlimited or out-of-scope work.

Requests that materially alter the scope, timeline, responsibility, assumptions, deliverables, or effort may require:

  • an updated proposal

  • change order

  • additional estimate

  • revised Statement of Work

  • written client approval

Compass & Main is not required to begin additional work until the changed scope and related pricing have been approved.

Deposits

Compass & Main may require deposits or advance payments.

Whether a particular deposit is refundable, partially refundable, or nonrefundable will be stated in the applicable proposal, Statement of Work, agreement, or invoice.

There is no single website-wide rule making every professional-services deposit automatically nonrefundable.

Cancellation of Professional Services

A client wishing to cancel, pause, or materially change an engagement should provide notice to hello@compassandmain.com.

If an engagement ends before completion, the client remains responsible for amounts properly due for:

  • work already performed

  • approved work in progress

  • authorized expenses

  • noncancelable commitments

  • other amounts due under the applicable agreement

Any additional cancellation charge, reserved-capacity charge, deposit treatment, or notice requirement will be governed by the applicable client agreement.

Recurring Support

Unless another arrangement is expressly stated in writing, recurring support arrangements require thirty (30) days’ written notice of cancellation.

The applicable agreement will identify scope, billing frequency, included services or capacity, and any additional recurring-support terms.

Recurring support does not automatically include major projects or work outside the agreed scope.

Compass & Main’s Right to Decline or End Work

Compass & Main may decline, pause, or terminate an engagement where reasonably necessary, including for:

  • nonpayment

  • repeated material breach of agreed responsibilities

  • abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or harassing conduct

  • illegal or unethical requests

  • requests outside Compass & Main’s professional role

  • undisclosed conflicts

  • security concerns

  • circumstances that make continued work impractical or inappropriate

Financial obligations for properly completed work and authorized commitments remain subject to the applicable agreement.

Digital Products and Downloads

Compass & Main may offer digital items including templates, guides, workbooks, toolkits, downloads, electronic publications, or other resources.

Because digital products may become accessible, downloadable, reproducible, or usable immediately after purchase, digital-product sales are generally final once access has been provided.

Refunds may still be provided when required by applicable law or where Compass & Main determines that a duplicate charge, material technical delivery failure, billing error, or similar issue warrants a refund.

If you cannot access a purchased digital product, contact hello@compassandmain.com.

Self-Paced and Recorded Training

Unless otherwise stated before purchase, self-paced courses, recorded training, and similar on-demand educational content are generally nonrefundable once access has been provided.

If Compass & Main is unable to provide the purchased content, we will provide an appropriate replacement, credit, rescheduling option, or refund as circumstances and applicable law require.

Live Training, Workshops, and Events

Cancellation, transfer, credit, and rescheduling terms for live workshops, webinars, training programs, or events may vary.

The specific terms applicable to the program will be disclosed on the registration, product, proposal, or purchase page.

If Compass & Main cancels a paid program and cannot reasonably provide the purchased program as promised, an appropriate rescheduling option, replacement, credit, or refund will be provided.

Physical Products

Compass & Main may offer books or other physical products.

Unless otherwise stated on the applicable product page or required by law, physical-product purchases are not returnable solely because a purchaser changes their mind.

Please contact Compass & Main if an item is:

  • damaged

  • defective

  • incorrect

  • materially different from what was ordered

  • lost in shipment

We may request reasonable information or photographs necessary to evaluate the issue.

Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate remedy may include replacement, reshipment, refund, or another reasonable resolution.

Shipping and Fulfillment

Applicable product pages will identify available shipping charges and estimated fulfillment information.

Compass & Main will make reasonable efforts to ship physical merchandise within any timeframe stated at the time of sale.

If we are unable to ship within the promised timeframe, or within the time otherwise required by applicable law, we will provide the notice, cancellation opportunity, refund, or other remedy required by applicable law.

Preorders

Products may occasionally be offered for preorder.

The applicable product page will identify the anticipated release or fulfillment timing and any preorder-specific terms.

Estimated dates may change.

If Compass & Main cannot provide a prepaid product, we will provide the cancellation, refund, or other remedy required by applicable law.

Taxes

Applicable taxes will be collected where required by law.

Tax treatment can vary based on the purchaser’s location, product type, transaction, and applicable tax rules.

Billing Questions and Refund Processing

Questions regarding invoices, duplicate charges, payment errors, or refunds should be sent to:

hello@compassandmain.com

Please provide enough information for Compass & Main to identify the transaction.

Approved refunds will generally be returned through the original payment method when supported.

Processing times after issuance may depend on the payment processor or financial institution.

Introductory Calls

An introductory call specifically advertised by Compass & Main as free has no service fee.

Any paid advisory session, assessment, workshop, training, or consultation will be identified as paid before the purchaser becomes obligated to pay.

Changes to This Policy

Compass & Main may update this policy as our services, products, business model, or payment practices change.

Updates will apply prospectively and will not retroactively alter an accepted client agreement except where legally permitted and appropriately agreed.
